The Mexican Junior National Team took on the mighty Team Japan who is ranked #2 in the world on Saturday in Irvine, California. Team Mexico conducted tryouts for over 150 players from across the United States and Mexico on Friday. Players were tested in all their Athletic Performance Metrics using AthPro360 testing standards. They were then evaluated throughout the day from individual skill assessments to the team and competitive analysis. The group was paired down to 60 players who returned Saturday morning to continue with their pursuit to make the team.

By 2pm the Mexico National team coaches selected 40 players to represent Mexico in game one on Saturday night. The powerhouse Japan showed no mercy to the new and young team showing off their strong bats and precise defense. The scrappy Mexico Junior Team would not give in though giving the large crowd a great game filled with action and enthusiasm. Japan prevailed 4-1 in the end.
